Does the Fractal Deluxe Reverb sound broken to anyone else?

Still less headroom than I would expect from a DR in the 25.02 FW, I have to set the master volume at 7 in the ideal tab to get it where I want it.

I would expect a Deluxe Reverb to be squeaky clean at these settings with a strat, but this is got some grit to it (ideal MV at 10)

That's the Vibrato version with an extra gain stage, I think.

Also, your Input Trim set to 1.0 is like using the high input.

Try the Normal with Input Trim at .500.

The vibrato channel is the topic of this thread, and I always use the "high" input on a DR. :giggle:

Strat into normal channel, low input of a Deluxe Reverb with volume on 2 is a very sad experience, IRL.

But you said "squeaky clean" is expected with those settings...

I haven’t tried the fixed version yet since I’m on an FM9, but every real DR I’ve played is pretty clean on the high input of the Vibrato channel until around 3-4 on the volume.

I don’t know about the specific DR that was used to create this model

I just checked the Amp Guide that @yek put together. It's a 65 Black Face Deluxe Reverb.

Here's a relevant quote from Cliff about this topic:

Sorry its not doing it for you! One of the pros of captures I guess vs models.

Plenty of great clean amps on the fractal line but it still sucks it isn't doing what you'd hoped
Not really an issue, if I take the master volume in the ideal tab down to 7-8 its as clean I want it again..
Or I fire up the Twin Reverb model :giggle:

Yes, with the amp IRL it will be squeaky clean with a strat at those settings.
In real life, the settings don't match the Fractal... See my previous post.

Also, in real life, you don't have Cliff's specific 1965 Deluxe Reverb ;)

They used a Suhr Modern with high output humbuckers... I'm getting breakup at 2.01 on the Fractal with vintage output single coils.
Something ain't right.
