My first rack unit was an Alesis Quadraverb (I think) in the late 80s but it doesn't count since it wasn't in a rack!

After that it was the ART SGX-2000 and the X-15 controller.

Later, I got a Carvin Quad-X preamp from a local musician who had just bought a a Triaxis (not my pic):

That thing has 22 tubes in it, if I remember correctly!
